Appeal for witnesses after assault in Ashington

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Ashington.
The incident took place at around 11.30pm on Saturday, November 14, at the entrance of the The White House Social Club, on High Market, Ashington, in which a 55-year-old man was assaulted.
Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact police in Ashington on 03456 043 043 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A 37-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident and later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 17.
