Suspected drugs recovered in raid

Police have recovered a large bag of suspected drugs and associated paraphernalia after a warrant was executed at a Newcastle house.
At 12.15pm on Tuesday March 2, 2010 a search warrant was executed at Fairholm Road, Benwell. During the search a large bag of white powder - suspected to be drugs - and associated drug dealing paraphernalia was recovered.
This included electronic scales with traces of white powder, as well as a further bag containing traces of the substance. The powder - which is suspected to be amphetamine - has been submitted for testing.
Two people, a man aged 31 and a woman aged 39, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possessing controlled drugs with intent to supply. They've been bailed for further enquiries.
Detective Constable Peter Watson, from the Neighbourhood team CID, said: "If anyone has any information about suspicious or criminal activity in their neighbourhood they should contact us as soon as possible so we can take action."
