Man charged with church theft

A man has ben charged after a theft from a church in Newcastle.
Around 1.30pm on Sunday, April 15, taps and pipe work were removed from the kitchen and toilets at Christchurch Walker Parish Church, Church Street, Walker. The removal of the fittings caused extensive damage to the building.
A 21-year-old man from Newcastle was yesterday charged with theft. He is due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court next month.
