Five charged with drugs offences

Five men have been charged as part of an ongoing drugs operation in Tynedale.
The operation is being run by the force's Serious and Organised Crime Unit. The operation has focused on drug dealing in and around the Prudhoe area. A quantity of cocaine has been recovered.
David Walton, 39, of Park Lane, Prudhoe, has been remanded in custody charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.
Mark MacKay, 36, of Queen's Close, Acomb, Timothy Alsop, 43, of North View, Mickley, Shaun Sharkey, 28, of Tulip Street, Prudhoe and Sean Rutherford, 28, of Ovington View, Prudhoe, have all been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and granted conditional bail.
