Witnesses sought to fatal crash

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a fatal crash in Northumberland.
The crash happened at around 7.15am, on Saturday, June 2, on the A69 westbound, half a mile before the Ovington junction.
The Mercedes vehicle was travelling west on the A69 when, for reasons yet to be established, it veered across the carriageway before colliding with a bridge parapet.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He can now be named as Colin Thomas Swan, aged 50, of Wansford Way, Whickham.
It is not believed any other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191.
We are still not in a position to name the deceased at this stage.
