Man arrested after car crashes into house

Police have arrested a man after a car crashed into a house in Northumberland.
The incident happened on Sunday, July 22, at 5.05am in Spring Ville, East Sleekburn. Emergencies services were called to the incident after a BMW car left the road and became embedded into the side of the terraced house causing serious structural damage to the house and neighbouring properties.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the house, the damaged home and nearby properties have been evacuated as a precaution. Local authority structural engineers are to assess the buildings.
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and a 24-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been released on police bail and enquiries are ongoing.
