Assault in Newcastle city centre

Police are appealing for information after an assault in Newcastle.

At 9:45pm on Tuesday, April 15, a 16-year-old boy was walking along Percy Street, in the city centre, when a youth got out of a Range Rover, approached him and struck him with a wooden bat.

The man then got into the 4x4 and fled the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries in the incident.

The offender is described as being around 5ft 11ins tall, around 17 years old and of skinny build with short blonde hair.

He spoke with a local accent and was wearing a beige jumper and dark grey jogging bottoms.
