Cash stolen in house burglary

Police are appealing for the public's help in tracing a man who burgled an elderly woman's home.
The offender entered the victim's home on Brunswick Street, South Shields at around 2am on Saturday April 24 via an unlocked door.
The woman awoke to discover the man in her house. He stole a small amount of cash and other items from the 69-year-old victim.
