Joining forces at open day
Dated: 03 Jul 2012
Neighbourhood officers from Newcastle East are setting up a stall at the Fire and Rescue Service’s Open Day in the community fire station in Byker this Saturday (7 July).
They will be on hand to offer members of the public crime prevention advice and the force’s Police Cadets will be helping to hand out crime prevention leaflets. This is the first time the Newcastle volunteer Police Cadets are getting involved in a community event. They are looking forward to taking part and wearing their new uniform at the open day.
A police van will be at the event so visitors can have a look round and ask officers any questions.
Neighbourhood Inspector Louise Cass-Williams said: "These community events are a good way for us to meet local people and discuss any local policing needs.
"I hope residents will use this opportunity to get to know their local officers and pick up some crime prevention tips."
