Man arrested following assault

Police have arrested a man following an assault in Gateshead.
At just after 9.45pm, on Friday, August 17, police received a report of an assault at an address at Brandon Gardens.
Officers attended the scene where a 58-year-old man was found suffering from facial injuries.
He was taken to the QE for treatment where he remains. However, his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Following enquiries, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent.
He is currently being interviewed by police.
