Charities gift for school
Dated: 30 Apr 2012

Youngsters are enjoying a special playground gift - thanks to a donation from the Northumbria Police Charities Fund.
Children who attend Columbia Grange School in Washington, which caters for pupils with autism spectrum disorder and severe learning difficulties, have received outdoor play equipment.
The fund has donated two pedal diggers and a tractor with trailers for the children aged two to 11 years to have fun in a new safe outdoor play area. The purpose built school has a newly built outdoor multi-purpose play areas, but needed more toys for the children.
The school requested the play equipment as many pupils have difficulty learning social skills which can make them feel isolated in mainstream play areas. This equipment based in their school will help them to develop social skills and enable them to enjoy playing safely alongside other pupils.
