Man remains in custody after stabbing

The man arrested following an incident where a woman was stabbed in the Doxford Park area of Sunderland continues to remain in police custody.
The injured woman remains in hospital where she has received treatment for her injuries.
The incident happened at 2.14pm on Friday, May 11.
Police and paramedics attended and the woman, who is in her 20s, was taken to hospital with a stab wound to her chest. The man was arrested and a knife was recovered.
