Attempted robbery - Team Valley

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Gateshead.
At 2:23pm today a report was received of an attempted robbery at a business premises in Jedburgh Court on the Team Valley.
It's believed three men entered the premises and demanded money. The men were carrying bats and one had a black handgun. It was not discharged and it is not known at this stage if was real or imitation.
A staff member was assaulted and he has a head injury for which they are receiving treatment. The three fled the scene in a white Fiat Punto registration number N969 KTC.
Officers are at the scene and enquiries into the incident to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.
