Operation Iron

Police are taking action in Hylton to tackle crime and disorder.
Two men have been charged for theft from motor vehicle as part of Operation Iron.
Darren Mark Jones, 43,of Plumtree Avenue, Redhouse, Sunderland, was charged with theft of motor vehicle after making off from police officers in a stolen vehicle. He was also subsequently charged with theft from motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and burglary.
He is due to appear at Sunderland Magistrates' on November 28.
The same day a second man was arrested after a warrant at a house in Redhouse where suspected stolen sat navs were recovered as well as a quantity of drugs.
Darren Carlisle, 31, of Rutherford Road, Sunderland, was charged with handling stolen goods and possession of class A drugs.
He will appear at Sunderland Magistrates' on October 17.
Inspector Tony Carty of the Sunderland North Neighbourhood Team said: "Operation Iron is an operation focussed on tackling crime and disorder issues in the community.
"We are listening to the feedback we receive from residents and incorporating it into our policing strategies. This enables us to tackle the issues that are most important to the community and continue to make this a nice area to live, work and socialise.
