Man found with injuries

Police are investigating after a man was found in the roadside in Ponteland in Northumberland unconscious and suffering head injuries.

The 39-year-old was found at 11.44pm on Saturday, December 22, in Darras Road, Ponteland by a passer-by. They called the emergency services and the man was found to have sustained a head injury and was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary. His condition is not believed to be life threatening and is described stable.

Police are investigating and currently it is not known how the man came by his injuries.

Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and are appealing for witnesses.  Anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
