Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision in north Northumberland.

At 8:27am on Monday, March 4, police received a report of a collision involving a Citroen car and a HGV on the B6350 between Carham and Wark.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene and the driver of the Citroen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the HGV was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A section of the road is currently closed to allow for the vehicles to be uplifted and collision investigation to take place - it is expected to re-open around 4:10pm.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who was in the area immediately after the collision, is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
