Appeal after assault and theft

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted and had property stolen in Gateshead.
It happened between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on Friday, April 20, when the 17-year-old was at The Avenue in Carr Hill with friends. He was approached by two other teenagers.
One of them punched the victim in the head before running off. The victim put his bag on the ground and a second man then picked up the bag and ran off. The bag contained a mobile phone and some clothes.
The first suspect is white, aged about 17, about 5ft 5ins tall, with short dark-coloured hair, no facial hair, wearing black tracksuit bottoms with white stripes down the outside of the leg and a dark tracksuit top.
The second suspect is also white, slightly smaller that the first teenager, wearing a black tracksuit top and bottoms, with a blue hood up over his head.
