Much work has been carried by the Neighbourhood Policing Team in conjunction with the response shift to deal with robbery offences. Officers have We are pleased to report that disorderly behaviour has continued to decrease within the Gateshead East Area. Targeted patrols will continue to focus on hot-spot areas in and around the Windy Nook Nature Reserve and Sunderland Road at key times and days of the week where incidents have previously been reported.
We continue to rely on the help we get from our local communities to tell us where they are having problems and to provide us with any information which will help us to tackle the issue.
Your local police have also been successful in reducing the number of violent crimes committed in the area. These offences include low level assaults, public order incidents and the carrying of weapons.

The Central area of Gateshead continues to become an even safer place to live with reported crimes in the sector having been reduced by 270 compared to the same time last year.
