Crime prevention advice for Gateshead shoppers
Dated: 18 Apr 2012

Team Valley shoppers can pick up some handy hints on keeping their newly purchased items safe and secure when they visit Team Valley, Gateshead, this month.
Northumbria Police officers from Gateshead South neighbourhood team will be on hand on Saturday, April 21st from 11am to 5pm with the community bus, offering tips and advice on crime prevention from bike marking to using the Immobilise registration service.
The event is part of Northumbria Police’s April crackdown on burglary.
Sergeant Chris Darling, of Gateshead South NPT, said: “This will be an ideal place to get some handy tips on keeping property safe. Easter is traditionally a time when people start thinking about buying gardening equipment from tools to leisure items.
“By taking a few simple crime prevention tips home along with their shopping, we hope people will have years of enjoyment from their purchases and not fall victim to thieves.
“Immobilise is a great way of registering property and means in the unfortunate event of anything being stolen and recovered we can successfully find the owner.”
