Neighbourhood priorities
Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.
The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:
1. May 2013: ASB Chopwell
"What you told us"
There has been an increase in the number of reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Chopwell which has caused concern for some local residents.
"What are we doing about it ?"
Operation WAYS will cover the area in the coming months. Both neighbourhood and 24/7 uniform officers are being deployed at key times mainly during weekends.
Officers will issue Direction to Leave notices to those causing problems in the local community.
Joint working is ongoing with Trading Standards officers to identify those premises selling alcohol to underage children.
The operation will be managed by Sergeant Quinn of the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

We will publish results of our operation in the local media and via the police website.
Officers will attend local surgeries and provide updates to the public on the progress we have made.
Community messaging will also be utilised to highlight what the local policing team are doing.
2. May 2013: House burglary offences in Ryton.
"What you told us"
There has been an increase in house burglary offences in Ryton.
"What are we doing about it ?"
Operation Alboka is in place to target those areas where offences have been occurring.
We have extra resources policing affected areas at key times.
Crime prevention advice is being given to victims of this crime and to the wider local community.

Updates of the operation will be provided at local meetings and via community messaging.
Updates will also be given online.
3. May 2013: Shed burglary offences in Crawcrook.
"What you told us"
There has been an increase in sheds being broken into in Crawcrook.
"What are we doing about it ?"
Local officers are patrolling the affected area to identify offenders and prevent further offences. Crime prevention advice is being offered at policing surgeries.
"Keeping you informed"
Officers will give updates at local meetings as well as to the local community on the progress being made.
