Neighbourhood priorities

Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

May 2012: Youth anti-social behaviour around the Blakelaw area and particularly the 165 Estate.

"What you told us"

At residents' meetings and whilst dealing with incidents, local residents have reported ongoing problems with youths causing disorder and damage in the locality.

"What we are doing about it"

Increased uniform patrols at the optimum times of day and week have been implemented.
We are working with our partners to tackle offenders using a graded response system. This includes the use of Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) and tenancy action.
Officers continue to visit local off-licences and work with trading standards to prevent the sale of alcohol to those underage.
These tactics have been successful in the past.

"Keeping you informed"

The Blakelaw, Kenton and Fawdon Neighbourhood Policing Team will be in attendance at the next round of council meetings in January. Information about these meetings can be found in the events section of these website or on the Newcastle City Council website.
