Neighbourhood priorities

Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

Youth anti-social behaviour and criminal damage at Fawdon Park and the surrounding streets, including Strathearn Way, Mapledene Road, Park Avenue and Elm Grove.

What you told us

At residents' meetings held during November you told us that you were concerned at the number of youths causing anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in Fawdon Park and the surrounding area.

What we are doing about it

Increased patrols are being carried out by police officers and community support officers to target those involved.

There are frequent visits being made to off-licences to ensure compliance with laws relating to selling alcohol to juveniles.

We are working with our partners to tackle offenders using graded response systems to tackle anti-social behaviour. This includes the use of Acceptable Behaviour Agreements (ABAs) and tenancy enforcement action.

The use of such tactics has been found to be successful on previous occasions.

Keeping you informed

The Blakelaw, Kenton and Fawdon Neighbourhood Policing Team will be in attendance at the next round of council meetings in January and February. Information about these meetings can be found in the events section of these web pages or on the Newcastle City Council website.
