About My Role

PC Grahame Edger

PC Graham Edgar

I joined Northumbria Police in 1990 and I spent the first two years of my service working in the Gateshead West area command.

I moved to the Newcastle City Centre in 1992 and I spent the next two years working uniform duties on a 24/7 shift. I then spent a year on a local proactive crime team which primarily dealt with retail and vehicle crime in the Newcastle City Centre area before returning to uniform duties. I then joined the Territorial Support Group in 1997 and I spent 4 1/2 years working on there before returning to uniform duties on a 24/7 shift in 2001. I spent the next five years working uniform duties on a 24/7 shift in the Newcastle City Centre before joining the Retail Crime Unit in 2006.

I moved to the Newcastle City Centre Neighbourhood team in 2009 where my main area of responsibility lies with the retail premises at Northumberland Street, the Monument Mall and Grainger Street where I provide a high profile visible presence within my beat area to instill public reassurance and confidence.
