45-year-old man assaulted in city centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 45-year-old man was assaulted in Newcastle.

It happened in New Bridge Street in the city centre at around 3.20am this morning. The 45-year-old man was taken to hospital with a head injury, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. A second man suffered a cut lip.
