Man arrested after city assault

Police have arrested a man after an assault in Newcastle.
At 8.17pm on Wednesday, June 6, police received a report that a 20-year-old man had been assaulted at Old Eldon Square in the city centre.
Officers attended and found the man with a deep cut to his forehead, he was taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged. At this stage it's believed he'd been assaulted with a glass.
A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause GBH and is currently in custody.
