We did...

  • Increased mobile patrols and use of a mobile speed awareness matrix board.
  • Partnership working with Newcastle City Council to identify solutions.
  • Proposed weeks of action aimed at education and enforcement.

You said…

Youth Anti-Social Behaviour in Denton Dene North/Wansford Avenue.

We did...

  • High visibility patrols on evenings throughout the week and particularly at key times such as weekends, from 7pm to 11pm.
  • Youths are being dispersed / returned home and positive action taken with any offences wherever possible.
  • Alcohol seizures are being used to reduce offending behaviour and direction to leave notices issued where appropriate  - banning an individual from the area for up to 48 hours. Failure to comply with this will result in arrest.

Police have received an increase in reports about youth anti-social behaviour in Knott Place and the surrounding streets. Local residents have also approached patrolling officers and outlined their increased concerns about youths congregating and being noisy and disruptive.

We did...

  • High visibility patrols on evenings throughout the week and particularly at key times such as weekends, from 7pm to 11pm.
