We did...

  • Increased mobile patrols and use of a mobile speed awareness matrix board.
  • Partnership working with Newcastle city council Highways Department to identify most prevalent times.
  • There is a continuous monitoring of the issue and educating of motorists.

Youth ASB in Denton Dene North/Wansford Avenue

We did...

  • High visibility patrols will be conducted on evenings throughout the week and particularly at key times (weekends 7 - 11pm).
  • Youths will be dispersed / returned home and positive action taken re any offences wherever possible.
  • Alcohol seizures will be used to reduce offending behaviour and direction to leave notices issued where appropriate (banning individual from the area for up to 48 hours - failure to comply will result in arrest).

Police have received an increase in incident reports regarding youth antisocial behaviour in Knott Place and the surrounding streets. Local residents have also approached patrolling officers and outlined their increased concerns regarding youths congregating and being noisy and disruptive.

We did...
