Dated: 09 May 2012

Police are appealing for a witness to come forward after a burglary in Newcastle.

At 11.16pm on Tuesday, May 1, police received an anonymous phone call to say he believed a house at Thropton Terrace in Heaton had been burgled.

The man appeared to have knowledge of the homeowner and his possible whereabouts, and the call was made from a telephone kiosk at Newton Road in Heaton.

At 11.32pm the victim returned to his home to find he had been burgled, with laptop, computer and X-Box games console stolen.

Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident and in particular would like to speak to the anonymous witness again. DC Julie Drummond-Milne, Newcastle East CID, said: "We need to speak to this man about what he saw in the area and if he has information about what happened.

"I'd urge him to get in touch with us again, even if it is on a confidential basis. Any other witnesses or anyone with information should also contact us."

The witness or anyone else with information can contact police on 101 ext 69191.
