Neighbourhood priorities

Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

1. May 2012: Shed Burglaries

"What you told us"

During the beginning of 2012 the area of Throckley has seen a rise in reports of break-ins to sheds and garages. Offences occur largely after 6pm and involve the theft of primarily bikes and gardening equipment.

"What we are doing about it"

Plain clothes officers are conducting patrols during the highlighted times in order to combat this issue. Intelligence gathering has identified some likely suspects who are being actively targeted by the neighbourhood and 24/7 teams.
Officers are additionally offering crime prevention advice to local residents through local forums and leaflet drops. Advice focuses on keeping tools and gardening equipment locked securely away in order to prevent thieves using them as a tool to force entry.

"Keeping you informed"

The Outer West Neighbourhood Policing Team will be in attendance atĀ future ward meetings held by the local authority and information about these meeting can be found on either the Northumbria Police website or the Newcastle City Council website.
