We asked…

What concerns do you have in your neighbourhood?

You said…

That there has been a noticeable increase of speeding vehicles in the following streets; Warbottle Road, North Walbottle Road, Newburn Road.

We did…

CSOs and PCs have been deployed in the relevant areas with speed monitoring equipment to gauge the depth of the problem. Now that we have gathered some statistics around the wider issues, we will be requesting speed surveys to be done with a hope of implementing changes to the roads in conjunction with the highways authority.

Numerous drivers have now been given advice regarding their speed or issued with letters of caution and speeding tickets. Monitoring will be ongoing by local NPT officers who are liaising with other agencies.
