Police are investigating the theft of a mobility scooter from a car in North Tyneside.

Between 9pm on Saturday September 8 and 11.30am on Sunday September 9, various items were stolen from a car parked on Oakfield Drive in Killingworth.

A folding electric mobility scooter, sunglasses, a satnav and an iPod were stolen.

The victim, a severely disabled woman, is desperate to recover her mobility scooter which she relies on terribly and is lost without.

She is also in the position of not having the scooter insured as the car had been left unlocked and so she has no way of replacing it.

Anyone with information about the offence is asked to contact officers in Killingworth on the 101 non-emergency number, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers may offer a reward for information which leads to an arrest and charge.
