Neighbourhood officers and Police Cadets joined in the carnival fun at Burradon recently.

The Burradon Summer Carnival saw crowds of local people enjoying the community event.  PC Richie Parker, who patrols the Burradon area, was joined by six teenage Police Cadets who helped to greet visitors and hand out crime prevention information. The Burradon Forum and North Tyneside Council supported the event and Elected Mayor Linda Arkley opened the carnival.

Inspector John Smith, of Killingworth Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Officers are very much a part of the local community they serve and these types of events are a great way for them to get to speak to families who are enjoying the carnival fun.

"This was also a good opportunity for the cadets to work outside of the training environment and meet the public."
