Police are appealing for help to trace the owners of property recovered during a house search in North Tyneside.

On Friday, August 3, police recovered a number of items during the search of a house at Laurel Avenue in Forest Hall.

While some items have been established as being stolen, police have a number of items suspected as being stolen and are appealing for any owners to come forward.

The recovered property includes:

  • A black bag full of tools

  • A blue and black Mills bag with tools inside

  • Black Helios binoculars, a Fujifilm Finepix silver camera and a black camera bag

  • A blue Bosch drill set

  • A green Hitachi drill and box, with the initials SPW engraved in them

  • Several watches

  • A Thomas Fattorini commemorative medal for trade union service, engraved with a name

  • A set of distinctive plates, each with an image on

  • DKNY sunglasses with a white DKNY case

  • Electrical items including a camcorder, MP3 player and sat nav

  • A Queen Elizabeth II commemorative bell, in a box

Police have released images of some of the property in the hope people will recognise them and come forward.

DI Neil Brotherton, North Tyneside CID, said: "Following the search of a house in Forest Hall we recovered a number of items and we're trying to trace the original owners to establish where they have come from.

"Some of these are very distinctive, such as a commemorative medal for trade union service, which is obviously very personal as it's engraved with someone's name. There's also a large set of plates which have a variety of pictures on the front.

"Someone will recognise the items and we've released images of some of them. Anyone who recognises them should get in touch with police."

Anyone with information about the items is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Five people were arrested during the house search. A man aged 33 was charged with handling stolen goods, while men aged 30, 21 and 20 were arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed pending further enquiries. A woman aged 59 was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and bailed pending further enquiries.
