Neighbourhood priorities

Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

1. May 2013: To tackle evening and overnight burglaries to sheds and garages in the Battle Hill and Hadrian Park areas.

“What you told us” 

There has been an increase in the number of reports of sheds and garages being broken into.  

“What are we doing about it ?”       

Additional uniformed police patrols have been allocated to the area to prevent offences and provide reassurance. Officers in plain clothes will carry out foot patrol and pedal cycle patrols to apprehend offenders.

“Keeping you informed” 

There have been males arrested in connections with some of these offences.


2. May 2013 - To tackle alcohol related youth anti-social behaviour.

"What you told us"

That youths in the Wallsend area are being supplied alcohol from off-licences and that they then behave in an anti-social behaviour.

"What are we doing about it ?"

The Challenge 25 scheme has been implemented across the Wallsend area. Extra patrols are being directed to off-licences and key times.  We are working with our partners to ensure there are activities to prevent anti-social behaviour and the reduce the supply of alcohol.

"Keeping you informed"

A local off-licence in the Howdon area has had it's licence reviewed, it has been stopped from selling alcohol for a month and it's licence conditions have been reviewed to include training for staff and the availability of CCTV. 


3. May 2013: To tackle motor cycle disorder.

"What you told us"

 

You are concerned by the amount of young people driving motor cycles on footpaths and in parks.

"What are we doing about it ?"

Additional Uniform Police patrols have been allocated to the area to prevent offences and provide reassurance. Officers in plain clothes will carry out foot patrol and pedal cycle patrols to apprehend offenders.

One motor cycle has been seized and three people have had notices served on them.
