Neighbourhood priorities
Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.
The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:
1. May 2013: The prevention and effective investigation of violent crimes, particularly domestic-related offences and those associated with the night time economy.
"What you told us"
There has been reports of violent crime, particularly domestic-related offences and those associated with the night time economy.
"What we are doing about it"
All Neighbourhood Beat Managers, 24/7 officers, Police Community Support Officers, detectives and partner agencies have been made aware of the issue.
High visibility patrols have been dedicated to these areas including those from partner agencies.
"Keeping you informed"
Community meetings have been held in the area.
Regular meetings and consultation with members of the town's Pubwatch and North Tyneside's Strategic Partnership are held.
2. May 2013: The prevention and effective investigation of retail crime.
"What you told us"
There has been an increase in reports of shoplifting in our area.
"What we are doing about it"
Neighbourhood Officers, 24/7 officers and Police Community Support Officers are conducting high visibility patrols in these areas. Extra operational support resources are also being used to assist in these patrols.
"Keeping you informed"
Shoplifting deterrent posters are being displayed in the retail outlets in our area.
3. May 2013: The prevention of crime and disorder within the locality of Cullercoats Bay.
"What you told us"
There has been an increase in the number of reports crime and disorder in the Cullercoats Bay area.
"What we are doing about it"
Additional uniformed police patrols are being carried out to prevent further offences and to provide reassurance to the public. Additional bike patrols are also being carried out in the area.
Stop and search powers will be robustly used to deal with anyone suspected of committing an offence and the appropriate issue of direction to leave orders for those believed associated with alcohol related violence or disorder.
We are working in partnership with the RNLI and the local authority on initiatives aimed at reducing crime and disorder throughout the summer.

Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team are holding a public meeting on Tuesday, May 21 at the Watch House Cullercoats at 6.30 p.m. and invite local residents to drop in.
