Neighbourhood Priorities

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

1. October 2018: Anti-Social behaviour around Hill Top Park, Guisborough Drive and the surrounding streets in New York, North Shields

“What you told us”

There has been an increase in anti-social behaviour around Hill Top Park, Guisborough Drive and the surrounding streets in New York, North Shields.

“What we are doing about it”

Neighbourhood Officers are increasing hi-visibility patrols in this area.

Neighbourhood teams have re-contacted victims to obtain descriptions of the youths committing anti-social behaviour. 

Neighbourhood Officers have taken details of anyone causing anti-social behaviour and where appropriate will take tenancy enforcement action in conjunction with housing providers.

Neighbourhood Officers will be using new dispersal powers which enable them to ban an individual from the area for up to 48 hours.

Police Community Support Officers will be engaging with the Community to let them know what is happening.

2. October 2018: Anti-social behaviour and arsons around The Parks Leisure Centre and Linear Park, North Shields

There has been an increase in anti-social behaviour and arsons around The Parks Leisure Centre and Linear Park . 

“What we are doing about it”

Neighbour Officers have implemented a patrol plan in this area and have increased hi-visibilty patrols.

Neighbourhood Officers are working collaboratively with partners including North Tyneside Council, TWFS and local schools to tackle the issues.

Neighbour Officers will be using new dispersal powers which enabled them to ban individuals from the area for up to 48 hours. 

Neighbour Officers will take detailsof anyone causing anti-social behaviour and where appropriate will take tenancy enforcement action in conjunction with housing providers.

3. October 2018: Anti-social behaviour involving residents from The Nook, North Shields

There has been an increase in anti-social behaviour from residents in The Nook which is impacting on the quality of life of others in the area.

“What we are doing about it”

Neighbourhood Officers have increased hi-visibility patrols in this area.

Neighbourhood Officers are working collaboratively with partners North Tyneside Council and other housing providers and where appropriate will take tenancy enforcement action.

Neighbourhood Officer will be using powers under the Anti-social behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 to deal with problem premises where appropriate.
