About My Role
PCSO Andrew Wells
I am one of the Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) based in Cramlington.
I joined Northumbria Police in March 2009 as a PCSO.
My role is to provide public reassurance and be easily accessible to members of the public, working alongside partner agencies to help reduce crime and disorder in your area. My day to day duties involve high visibility patrols in the Seaton Valley area, visiting local off-licences and dealing with youth disorder issues.
PCSOs work within the community and were introduced to increase uniformed presence on the streets.
Working alongside front line officers, PCSOs provide a visible and accessible uniformed presence, tackling anti-social behaviour and other quality of life issues. Police powers are not necessary to deal with these issues.
PCSOs have helped to bring benefits to communities through significant reductions in crime and disorder and by providing a greater feeling of security and safety.
If you see me on patrol in your area please introduce yourself and make me aware of any community issues you have in your area.
