Man assaulted in Blyth

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Blyth.

At 11.05am on Wednesday August 8 a 28-year-old man was walking alone through Croft Park when he became involved in a  conversation with two men.

Whilst walking away from them, the victim was attacked from behind by the two men, who punched and kicked him repeatedly to the head and body.

He was taken to the RVI for treatment to his injuries before being discharged.

The two attackers are described as white, around 5'4" tall with local accents. After the assault they ran off towards The Avenues.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information about the attackers is asked to contact police on the 101 non-emergency number, or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Crimestoppers may offer a reward for information which leads to an arrest and charge.
