WE ASKED

What concerns you about your neighbourhood?

YOU SAID

Anti-social behaviour by groups of youths, Newsham Estate.

WE DID

  • Joint patrols were conducted with our partners from Homes For Northumberland.

  • CCTV cameras have been put in the area.

  • Alcohol has been seized and three youths given their first warning for persistently possessing alcohol in a public place.

  • Our partners at Homes For Northumberland have prepared notices seeking possession of properties.

  • Two youths have been arrested for assault and released on bail with conditions not to enter Newsham.

  • Anti-Social Behaviour Order applications are being researched and their initial preparation started. 

  • Officers on patrol in the area recently seized a quad bike from a youth.

What concerns you about your neighbourhood?

YOU SAID

Youth disorder in Ridley Park, Blyth. 

WE DID

  • Lighting has been installed in the park after funding was provided by a local councillor.

  • Patrols have been increased in the area by the neighbourhood policing team.

  • As a result of an ongoing operation in the area 30 Anti-Social Behaviour letters were sent to parents of children stopped. Twenty children had alcohol seized from them and received their first warning for persistently possessing alcohol and eight Direction to Leave notices were issued. There were six arrests for a number of offences and several referrals were made to Social Services.
