What will I be asked to do?

The main purpose of a Neighbourhood Police Volunteer’s role is to provide administrative and engagement support to the Rothbury Neighbourhood Policing Team. The key roles centre around keeping the police station operational, community engagement and crime prevention.

Some of the things you might get involved in include:

  • Opening the station at peak times

  • Providing an efficient and effective reception service

  • Dealing with minor enquiries

  • Providing administrative support to officers and staff

  • Helping with the community messaging service to get important information out to the public

  • Attend Community or Parish Council meetings

  • Provide support to watch schemes

  • Supporting crime prevention programmes
