Two charged with Ashington boiler theft

Police have charged two men and recovered a stolen boiler and copper piping in Ashington.

At 3am on March 10 burglars broke into a flat  in Winchester close and stole the boiler and copper piping from inside.

When the boiler was taken the damage caused by the thieves led to the flat flooding with water.

Officers carried out enquiries and arrested two men in connection with the burglary.

The boiler and piping was recovered at an address in the Canterbury Close area.

The two men, both aged 21, were charged with burglary and appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates court on Monday March 12.
