What is Neighbourhood Policing?
Northumbria Police is committed to delivering a local policing service that meets the needs of local people.

Neighbourhood Policing does this by ensuring local people:
Can easily access their local Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT).
Have influence over local (neighbourhood) priorities.
Are aware of action, jointly planned with the local council, other partners and the community, to solve problems.
Receive feedback on the results.
This means your NPT will work closely with members of the community and our partners to address those things, which matter most to you, to make your neighbourhood a safer place in which to live.
Your NPT has a police inspector who leads both Police and Community Support Officers. Each team works closely with other police resources such as detectives and specialists and partners including the local council.
