Thieves target vans in Berwick

Police in Berwick are urging van drivers to remove tools and valuables from their vehicles overnight after a number of thefts in the area.

Overnight on Tuesday, July 24, and Wednesday, July 25, three vans were broken into in the Beadnell and Seahouses areas.

In James Street, Seahouses, four Bosch drills, a Bosch ratchet, a Bosch circular saw, a Bosch jigsaw and a Dewalt drill were stolen.

A long handled Stihl saw, a Husqvarna strimmer and an ECO hedgetrimmer were taken in Swinhoe Road, Beadnell, and an orange Stihl saw and a Hitachi nail gun from a van in King Street, Seahouses.

Officers are asking drivers to remove all tools, work equipment and valuables from their vehicles overnight and to lock their vehicles when leaving them.
