Neighbourhood priorities

Northumbria Police aims to meet our commitment to you.

The following Neighbourhood priorities relate to your area:

1. May 2012: Speeding in Humshaugh Village, near Hexham.

"What you told us"

Vehicles are speeding in Humshaugh Village, near Hexham.  This road has a 30mph speed limit.  The complaint was referred to the police at a local Multi Agency Problem Solving meeting.

"What we are doing about it"

Speeding vehicles will be monitored and where appropriate drivers will be prosecuted.

Northumbria Police is working with partner agencies to deal with speeding issues.

Warning signs have already been placed at collision hotspots through West Tynedale.

High visibility speed checks will be carried out in the relevant areas.

2. May 2012: Retail crime in Fore Street, Hexham.

"What you told us"

There has seen a slight rise in shoplifting offences in Fore Street over recent weeks.

"What we are doing about it"

There will be additional patrols in the area to help prevent and detect crimes. 

Officers are working with individual retailers to help improve store security and offer crime prevention advice.
