Appeal after man stabbed

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Sunderland.

At 11.27pm on Friday, June 22, police received information from the ambulance service that a man was suffering from a stab wound to the chest at an address at Hylton Street in Sunderland.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment and his condition is not thought to be life threatening. Enquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or saw any disturbances in or around the Hylton Street area to contact them as soon as possible on 101 ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
