Operation Dates was aimed at reducing the number of bikes stolen by increasing the number of officers on patrol in offence hot-spot locations. Covert operations were conducted and known offenders targeted.
Local businesses were visited and advised regarding crime prevention tactics and several free bike locks were distributed by local officers.
So far this year there has been a reduction in the number of offences reported. There have been three bike thefts reported this year compared with seven in the same period last year.
