A rise in the number of cars being broken into.

The neighbourhood policing team has provided additional patrols in the areas that have been worse affected and targeted those we suspect of being involved. Operation Battery was launched which saw high visibility patrols carried out and crime prevention advice offered to people. Signs have been put up across the area reminding people not to leave valuables on display in empty valuables.

Officers are checking vehicles in the area and handing out additional crime prevention advice to people leaving valuables on display.

Additional funding to tackle these issues has been secured through the local multi-agency problem solving (LMAPs) to increase reassurance, prevention and enforcement activity.

Numerous visits have been made by Police and members of the Selective Licensing Team to problem addresses within the area and landlords have been advised regarding their current situations if they have not submitted their applications and adhered to the process. Problem tenants have been targeted and advised regarding their position should they continue to cause problems impacting on the local community.
