We are able to disclose the located information to you as follows with the below caveats to be noted.
- It must be noted the data represents the number of items stolen and not the number of crimes. For example, a ring and bracelet may have been stolen in a burglary but there would have been only one crime recorded.
- We have excluded all ‘Burglary - Business and Community’ crimes to ensure retailers are not included.
- 2024 data is supplied to 8 December 2024.
You asked:
I’m looking for information on jewellery thefts reported by individuals (not retailers) in Northumbria Police. I am looking for the data broken down by per month from 1st January 2023 to 31st December 2023 and also from 1st January 2024 until the most recent recorded date of 2024, for all areas covered by Northumbria Police.
I’m specifically interested in: rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. However, if the data is not broken down into categories, then stolen jewellery and/or accessories in general is fine.
Here are my following questions:
- How many of the items (rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings) were reported stolen during the two time frames?
- Please can you share the total number of stolen jewellery items per month. If possible, broken down by jewellery category.
