Request your fingerprints
We can take your fingerprints for the following reasons:
- to obtain the Security Industry Authority (SIA) Licence to work within the security industry
- for non-UK citizens to work with children in the United Kingdom
- foreign professional exams (e.g. N-PLEX – nursing)
- for customers undergoing adoption procedures abroad, particularly in the USA
- for customers wishing to conduct business in or within the USA
- for people who own racehorses that will be trained in the USA
Cost
The fees for this service are dependent on whether the country you need to send your fingerprints to is subject to VAT.
One set of fingerprints: £119.16
Each additional set/thumb print only: £59.64
These prices include VAT.
Please note: You will be provided with a link to pay online.
The following countries are exempt from paying VAT:
* Abu Dhabi
* Canada
* Jamaica
* Japan
* Nigeria
* Qatar
* St Vincent & the Grenadines
* United Arab Emirates
* Zambia
* Zimbabwe
For these countries one set of fingerprints costs £99.30 and £49.70 for each additional set/thumb print only.
What to bring with you
You'll need to bring the following with you:
- current valid passport
- paperwork detailing why a set of fingerprints is required
- proof of address, such as a utility bill, bank statement or similar, dated within the last three months
Please note: if you need your fingerprints taken for the US then you'll need to download the FBI's own form from their website and bring that with you to your appointment.
If you are renewing a South African passport, you'll need to bring the relevant form supplied by the South African embassy.
How to make an appointment
To make an appointment please email one of the police stations below, ensuring you include your full name, telephone number and details of the country you require the fingerprints for.
Once we receive your email you will receive a link to make payment online. This must be processed within 24 hours. A member of staff will call you back within 7-10 days to offer an appointment.
