Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your email received on the 15 November 2025 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held at the time of a request, by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and we provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the People Services and Professional Standards Departments of Northumbria Police. We can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
We are able to disclose the located information to you as follows with the below caveat to be noted:
• Data provided has been extracted from the Force System, which is a live database and may be subject to the addition and deletion of complaints, complainants and subjects after the initial extraction of data used for the purposes of this request.
• 2025 data is up to 25 November 2025.
You asked:
Number of police and community support officers still in service (including rank) who have a conviction/caution or arrest (of any sort/kind) between the dates of 2019 - 2025 within the force of Northumbria.
In line with GDPR I am not requesting names, or identifiable information.
There are a total of 7 Police Officers and or Community Support Officers, who have either had a conviction/caution or arrest since 2019 that are still serving. 4 of those detailed are currently subject to investigation.
In line with the College of Policing's Vetting autorised Professional Practice, all members of policing undergo robust vetting checks prior to recruitment and have an obligation to report any policing involvement whilst employed. If a member of poliging reports police involvment including arrests, a vetting review is undertaken to ensure continued suitability to work within policing.
